Solid was proud to sponsor the 8th Annual Gals For Cal team at the recent Max Performance Title 9 Triathlon at Hopkinton State Park in Massachusetts.
The Gals for Cal is an all women's triathlon team 'tri-ing to End Duchenne,' by raising money and awareness for the Jett Foundation. The team was originally inspired by its captain Cindy Quitzau's son, Cal, who is now 14 years old with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
Solid's founder and head of patient advocacy, Annie Ganot, competed with the Gals alongside several mothers with sons with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and nearly 70 of their supportive friends and family.
"It was an honor and privilege to train and compete with this inspiring and supportive group of women. Our sons, the World's Strongest Boys, motivate and challenge us to do great things, to step (or make giant leaps!) outside of our comfort zones, to make a positive impact, and to play a meaningful part in solving Duchenne."
- Annie Ganot
This year's team raised more than $80,000 to support local families with adaptive equipment and the Livin' Large Fund, a small grant program of the Jett Foundation that helps Duchenne muscular dystrophy families in Massachusetts and New Hampshire to participate in accessible recreation and social opportunities that may otherwise not be affordable.
